Fifty Shades of Grey

OMG! The whole world has gone Fifty Shades of Grey mental, it seems! I haven’t read it. I refuse to read it. I’ve heard it’s really badly written, and I know it would infuriate me. I also just don’t feel the need for erotica in my life right now! I guess I’m just not part of the ‘mummy porn’ brigade, and I actually like books…

It’s nothing new either. I remember back in the 1990s when I was in my 20s, magazines like More and Cosmopolitan gave away erotic fiction novels from companies like Black Lace. One of them went as far as giving away a fake cover to disguise your book on the bus or train! No need for that now, with iPads and Kindles.

Fifty Shades of Grey started life as an e-book, but just the other week smashed the weekly paperback sales record, shifting 205, 130 copies. The author, EL James, has become the first author to have two or more books sell more than 100,000 copies in the same week and the trilogy has sold 2.75 million digital and print copies in the UK and more than 10 million in the US in three months.

Wow. Personally, I find this colour chart from Dulux more interesting…shared on my Facebook today by Holyrood PR!

  1. HAHAHHAHA nice one! This made me laugh a LOT πŸ˜€ I mean, a lot of people have been doing reviews on this book lately, and yours is really one of the funniest I’ve come across. Seriously. πŸ™‚
